I have an oversupply of tofu so you’ll see a lot of tofu recipes here. I still have about 1.5 kilos in the refrigerator and I need to cook them fast, haha! Today, I’m sharing the recipe for Tofu Satay with Peanut Sauce.
While this recipe of Tofu Satay with Peanut Sauce is still considered easy, I had some challenges in making the sauce stick to the tofu while frying them. But it ended up okay still and it was delicious! I honestly didn’t need the dip but I prepared it nevertheless.
Tofu Satay with Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp shaoxing wine
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 500 grams firm tofu
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Drain tofu from water. Slice into rectangular pieces.
In a small bowl, combine peanut sauce ingredients.
Set aside 1/2 of the peanut sauce.
Use the other half of the peanut sauce to coat the tofu slices. Make sure to coat the tofu well with the sauce.
In a wok, heat oil over medium heat.
Add tofu and fry for 5 minutes on each side.
Remove from the wok. Serve the tofu with the peanut sauce. Enjoy!
