I’ve cooked adobo a couple of times but I’m still in a lookout for the best recipe. So this time, I tried Sprite Pork Adobo. Is this the best version of the pork adobo?
I’m not really sure. They all taste the same. And since soft drink is not really good for our body, I’ll stick with the traditional pork adobo recipe.
Sprite Pork Adobo
- 1 kilo pork belly cubed
- 7 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 can Sprite
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 1 piece onion minced
- pork belly from marinade
- marinade from marinade
- 1 1/2 tsp whole peppercorns
- 5 pieces bay leaves
- 4 tbsp white vinegar
Marinate Pork in soy sauce and sprite for at least 6 hours.
Separate the marinade from the pork. Set both aside.
In a wok, heat oil over medium heat.
Add garlic and saute until fragrant.
Add onions and cook until onions are translucent in color.
Add pork and cook until color turns light brown.
Add marinade. Cover the wok and let boil.
Add peppercorns and bay leaves. Cover wok again and continue to cook for 30 minutes.
Add vinegar. Let boil again.
Stir ingredients and cover wok and cook for another 30 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
