If there is one dish I’m super proud of cooking, that is the Filipino Shrimp Curry. This recipe that I adapted from Panlasang Pinoy is the bomb! It’s legit curry, tasted like it came from an Indian restaurant!
I will make sure to cook this if I’ll have friends around. It’s difficult to experiment if we’re feeding other people, haha!
Filipino Shrimp Curry
Ingredients
Marinade
- 1/2 kilo shrimps shell removed
- 2 pieces calamansi
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper powder
For Cooking
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 piece onion minced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 piece thumb-sized ginger minced
- 1 piece tomato
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 1 piece Knorr Shrimp Cube
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 piece red bell pepper chopped
- 1 piece green bell pepper chopped
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 1/4 cup parsley chopped
Instructions

Put Shrimps in a bowl. Add calamansi juice, pepper and cayenne pepper powder. Mix ingredients and marinade for 15 minutes.

Heat oil in a wok.

Add onions and saute for 1 minute.

Add garlic, ginger and tomato and saute for another minute.

Add coconut milk. Stir then let boil. Cover the pot and continue to cook for 2 minutes.

Add curry powder and stir with the rest of the ingredients.

Add shrimp cube and stir again and cook for another 2 minutes.

Add turmeric powder and bell peppers. Stir with the rest of ingredients.

Cover pot and cook for another 3 minutes.

Add marinated shrimp into the pot and cook for another 5 minutes.

Add fish sauce and parsley. Cook for another 2 minutes.

Serve and enjoy!
