Rellenong ampalaya must be one of the challenging dish I’ve prepared but boy, it was worth it! The way it looks, it’s like it came out of a restaurant. I enjoyed serving this and was so proud as to how it tasted!
I don’t use my oven much so I’m glad that I was able to try this out. I cooked it for another 5 minutes in the oven as I want to make sure that the pork is cooked all the way through.
- 2 pieces ampalaya (bitter gourd) cored and cut into 2-inch sections
- 1/2 kilo ground pork
- 1 piece carrot minced
- 1 piece egg
- 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 piece onion minced
- 5 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius.
rinse ampalaya and set aside.
in a bowl, combine all ingrediate except for ampalaya.
stuff the mixture into the ampalaya slices.
in a baking tray, arrange the stuffed ampalaya
bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
remove from oven and serve in a plate. enjoy!
