A very unusual recipe for me to adapt but I went ahead anyway. I’m not really fond of sardines but I want to try out as much recipes as I can. So for this post, I’m sharing with you Sardines and Misua Soup.

Sardines and Misua Soup

After preparing it, I still felt a bit weird to have sardines as the main ingredient of a soup. But it works! It’s a good alternative if you run out of ideas to cook!

Sardines and Misua Soup

Servings 6 people

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 piece onion minced
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 pieces tomatoes sliced
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 3 cans tomato-based sardines (5.5 ounces each)
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 ounces misua
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pot, heat olive oil.

  2. add onions and garlic. Saute until onions are translucent in color.

  3. add tomatoes. saute until tomatoes are soft.

  4. add fish sauce and cook for another 2 minutes.

  5. add sardines and water. Bring to a boil.

  6. add misua and cook for another 5 minutes.

  7. season with salt and pepper.

  8. serve and enjoy!
