Beef Ampalaya with Sotanghon

While I was looking for more recipes with sotanghon, I found the Beef Amapalaya with Sotanghon recipe. It didn’t look normal but I tried it out anyway.

This Beef Ampalaya with Sotanghon Soup is okay but not gonna be in my favorite recipe list. I’m just not a fan of tomato-based soups but if you do, give this one a try!

Beef Ampalaya with Sotanghon

Servings 3 People

Ingredients

ampalaya

  • 250 Grams ampalaya sliced thinly
  • 1/4 Tsp salt
  • 1.5 Cups water

Dish

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 5 Cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 Piece onion sliced
  • 200 Grams sirloin beef cut into strips
  • 1 Piece beef cube
  • 200 Grams tomato sauce
  • 1 Tsp White sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp salt
  • 2.5 Cups water
  • 50 Grams sotanghon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, soak ampalaya in salt and water for 8 minutes.

  2. Drain ampalaya and set aside.

  3. In a wok, heat oil over medium heat.

  4. Add garlic, onion and beef. Sauté for a few minutes

  5. Add beef cube, tomato sauce, sugar, salt and water.

  6. Boil then lower heat. Put ingredients to simmer for 10 minutes.

  7. Add sotanghon and cook for another 3 minutes.

  8. Put ampalaya and gently stir with rest of ingredients.

  9. Cook for 3 more minutes before serving.
