I love Korean food. I especially love the authentic Korean restaurants. Not just because the food is yummy but they are so generous too! Even if I just order like 3 dishes, I still get about 5-8 variants of appetizers for free. One of those staples is Chinese Scallion Pancakes. So I tried to cook it on my own last weekend 😀
I tried to follow the original recipe but it didn’t work for me. So with this, I added eggs. With eggs included in the batter, it became much much more delicious!
Chinese Scallion Pancakes
- 2 cups all purpose flour sifted
- 500 ml water
- 2 pieces eggs
- 1 cup green onions finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon five spice powder
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and water.
Stir the ingredients using a whisk.
Add eggs into the mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Add chopped scallion/green onions into the bowl.
add salt & five spice powder. Mix thoroughly.
In a wok or pan, heat oil.
Scoop the mixture and pour into the wok/pan. Make sure to shape it into a big circle.
pan fry for about 3 minutes on each side.
Repeat the process until you finish all the batter.
Cut into wedges and serve.
