A very unusual recipe for me to adapt but I went ahead anyway. I’m not really fond of sardines but I want to try out as much recipes as I can. So for this post, I’m sharing with you Sardines and Misua Soup.
After preparing it, I still felt a bit weird to have sardines as the main ingredient of a soup. But it works! It’s a good alternative if you run out of ideas to cook!
Sardines and Misua Soup
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 piece onion minced
- 5 cloves garlic minced
- 2 pieces tomatoes sliced
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 3 cans tomato-based sardines (5.5 ounces each)
- 2 cups water
- 2 ounces misua
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions

In a pot, heat olive oil.

add onions and garlic. Saute until onions are translucent in color.

add tomatoes. saute until tomatoes are soft.

add fish sauce and cook for another 2 minutes.

add sardines and water. Bring to a boil.

add misua and cook for another 5 minutes.

season with salt and pepper.

serve and enjoy!
