Basic White Bread

I got a very good deal on a bread maker, thanks to a sweet colleague of mine. With that, I immediately tried it out and whipped up a Basic White Bread.

I learned that it’s very easy to use to use a bread maker. We just need to put all the ingredients, put the right settings on the machine, leave it, put the bread out, leave it to cool for few and you’re done! It’s always nice to eat bread that is freshly cooked.

This bread recipe is the most basic of all. It’s good to start with this one one!

Basic White Bread

Course Breakfast

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1.5 tsp sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp dry skim milk powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Put the ingredients into the bread pan in the order listed.

  2. Insert bread pan back into the bread maker.  Close lid.

  3. Select basic. Choose loaf size and crust color.  

  4. Press start.

  5. Once bread is done, protect your hands by wearing baking gloves and take out the bread pan from the bread maker.

  6. Remove the bread from the bread pan carefully.

  7. Allow the bread to cool for 15 minutes on a wire rack.

  8. Serve and enjoy!
