My 2018 Social Media Goals

Social Media is very powerful. What we post online builds our image. I’ve done a lot of mistakes before but life is a learning process. As I grow old, while I thought of quitting social media altogether, I just can’t get away from it.  This website and my social media pages are my outlet to share my ideas and my thoughts. So for my 2018 Social Media Goals, I’m fixing my social media pages.

My 2018 Social Media Goals

30 15 Blog Posts every Month on HeaRty.PH

I have so many thoughts and so many ideas I want to share. However, I always have writer’s block and I tend to write only when in the mood. I’ve read a lot of posts about really just pushing yourself to write until it becomes a habit. That’s what I’m trying to do now.

* Goal adjusted to at least 15 blog posts per month starting May 2018. I realised that 30 blog posts is unrealistic considering the many activities I intend to do during my free time.

Have Clear Strategy on Each Social Media Site

  • Blog Site – https://hearty.ph

I intend to write on this site anything under the sun. In short, whatever is in my interest as of the moment. I know that having a niche is important for longevity of websites.  For me though, HeaRty.PH is a personal site.  It’s about me, my experiences, my interests and my thoughts. So I’ll keep writing whatever despite not having consistent topics.

  • Twitter – @rochellesychua

I love Twitter because this is where I get to share my thoughts about the world especially the Philippines. 90% of my posts are about Philippine politics. I love the Philippines. Twitter is the platform where I share my opinions about what’s happening in our country.  Twitter is also the place where I get updates on PH government and laws. Being able to control who I follow keeps my Twitter feed sane, hahaha! I share interesting posts from my RSS feed to Twitter as well.

  • Facebook – http://facebook.com/heartyphblog

I intend to use FB to share new posts on my blog, that’s it! Maybe, there’ll be more in the future but for now, I’m sticking with just sharing new posts. Not a lot of people do email subscription. Most people are more active in FB so I figured that I can’t take FB out of the picture.

  • Pinterest – http://pinterest.com/heartyph

Pinterest is where I search for creative ideas. I use it as a visual database of my cooked dishes and finished crafts. I have boards for ideas I want to reapply then once I’ve done them, I remove them from my profile. I want to keep my Pinterest boards clean as it easily gets crowded considering thousands of brilliant ideas around there.

  • YouTube – http://youtube.com/heartyphblog

I’m still undecided on what type of videos I’m going to create on my YouTube channel, but my first order of business is to study iMovie. I mostly use YouTube now to watch cooking videos, home organizing videos, beauty videos and technology-related videos. I follow tons of channels so I tend to spend a lot of time on YouTube.

  • Instagram – http://instagram.com/heartyph

I decided on posting family & friends + travel photos on Instagram.  It’s a visual presentation of how life is good with beautiful people and places around me 😊

  • Happier – iOS app

I wanted to be more positive and grateful so I decided to have a gratitude journal this 2018. My app of choice is Happier. I don’t have any friends who are in it though but I’m glad there are a lot of people in there. It’s nice to post our happy moments and good to see happy moments from other people too.

Fix Up Social Media Pages

I intend to fix this website, my FB page, my IG page and my YouTube channel. For this site, I want to have new logo and header that will complement the look and feel of the site. For my FB page, I wanted to remove all my posts from my old domain.  I also want to have a good FB profile & cover picture. For IG, I wanted to remove all old posts as well and for my pictures, I bought a good filter and focused on having one type of look for my IG page. Lastly, for YouTube, I would like to have profile & cover picture for the page (even if I won’t have any videos posted yet).
