Mystery Manila – Justice for Jamila

Mystery Manila - Justice for Jamila

There are only a few activities available for friends to do in Metro Manila.  We usually just hang out by eating at a restaurant.  However, there is a new craze here wherein group of friends or family can solve a mystery in a room.

A couple of establishments are already offering it but we opted to try out Mystery Manila in Quezon City.

The First Live Escape Room Game in the Philippines.
1 Room. 1 Mystery. 1 Hour. 1 Way Out.
Can you solve it?

There are three games to play on and we chose Justice for Jamila.  All 6 of us were trying out the escape room game for the very first time.  We were too excited and too eager to solve the puzzle thinking that it’s easy.

The reception was a nice sight to see.  Mystery Manila is very effective in providing visualization on what their concept is to their customers.

There were fake bombs showing the number of minutes we have to solve the mystery and the letters d-e-a-d showing what will happen to us if we don’t escape by the allotted time.  Of course, this is just fiction but the pressure is real as we all want to successfully solve the mystery.

Mystery Manila do ask their guests to leave notes for display on their wall.  I adore the way they arranged the notes into a question mark.

I have to advise guests not to read the notes as some folks did write some clues in them.  You can feed your curiosity if you and your group have solved all the available mysteries in Mystery Manila.

The Mystery Leaderboard is shown on full display.  All successful groups have their name written in the leaderboard if they completed the mystery as one of the top 10 teams.  Take note that we visited Mystery Manila way back October 2014 so this is an outdated list of rankings.

For successful guests who were able to resolve the mystery on the allotted time, they will get prizes courtesy of Mystery Manila.  It’s a great way to flaunt your achievement.  However, one can get those merchandise if they fail to solve the mystery (by paying for it, of course!).

There were placards available for guests to use for photo-ops.  We cannot take pictures inside the room so the reception is the place to go to take pictures.

Mystery Manila Signs

Before we could enter the Justice for Jamila room, we had been given rules to follow. The person assigned was actually pretty strict.  I remember she even apprehended some of us when we tried to open a lock without using the key, hahaha!

The experience was great!  We went in thinking that the game is fairly easy but went out devastated as we weren’t able to identify who murdered Jamila 🙁  We didn’t ask for any clue as we thought we got it already.

We were told that we can try Justice for Jamila for a discount.  I think we already know what to do so we’ll just go to Mystery Manila again to try out their other rooms.

Since we were unsuccessful, we just took out our disappointment by taking some good photos…. 🙂

P.S.  Heard that there are only a few days left to try out Justice for Jamila.  Mystery Manila is retiring this room very soon for a new one.
