Sauteed Chayote with Button Mushrooms

Servings 4

Ingredients

To Marinade Pork

  • 1/4 kilo ground pork
  • 5 tbsp soy sauce
  • pepper to taste

To Cook Sauteed Chayote with Button Mushrooms

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • marinated ground pork
  • 3 pieces tomatoes cubed
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 piece onion minced
  • 1 can button mushrooms (pieces and stems) drained
  • 2 pieces chayote cut into strips
  • 5 tbsp water
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp fish sauce
  • sesame oil to taste

Instructions

To Marinade Pork

  1. In a bowl, place ground pork.

  2. Add soy sauce and black pepper. Combine the ingredients.

  3. Set aside and marinade for 30 minutes.

To Cook Sauteed Chayote with Button Mushrooms

  1. In a wok, heat olive oil over medium heat.

  2. Add marinated pork and cook until color turns light brown.

  3. Add onions, tomatoes and garlic. Cook for about 3 minutes.

  4. Add button mushrooms and cook for another 2 minutes.

  5. Add chayote, water, salt and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes while stirring occasionally.

  6. Add fish sauce and sesame oil. Mix all ingredients together.

  7. Serve and enjoy!
