As long as there are still Korean series in Netflix, I will continue to check them out one by one, the last one I binge-watched is Healer. I liked the female lead in Healer and was also excited to see Park Won-sang (who played one of my favorite characters in Last) again.
Healer (2014)
A fighter posing as a night courier agrees to protect a tabloid journalist whose investigation into a long-buried tragedy makes her a target for assassination.
I was glued to the series because of the female lead (Park Min-Young). Her acting was so superb! It was convincing! I’ll make sure to check her other works as well.
There are so many storylines that I liked about Healer and all the inspiration/lessons that came with them. For this post, I’ll enumerate the characters, what I thought of them and what I learned from them.
- Seo Jung-hoo – love can totally change a man’s dreams no matter how tough and how strong they are. Meeting Young-Shin gave him purpose. He used to dream to only live in an undeserted island. But upon falling in love, he wanted to live like a normal person.
- Chae Young-Shin – your traumatic experience in life can affect you for the rest of your life. The violence she experienced as a kid continued to affect her life as she tends to have difficulty in breathing when faced with violence.
- Kim Mun-Ho – violence is not always the best way to defeat an enemy. Live broadcast/news can be a powerful weapon too!
- Jo Min-ja – prioritizing work over family is not the best way to live life. Always be there during crucial moments. Building relationship with your loved one is very important.
- Ki Young-jae – a mentor influences their mentees’ life forever. His selfless love for his friend’s son is so touching. I cried when his character died 💔
- Seo Joon-seok – good will always prevail. No matter how long it takes. Always live by good principles and your life will not be in vain.
- Chae Chi-soo – Love for a daughter is not measured by just blood relation alone. You can be a father to another kid and mold them into beautiful kids despite not being the biological parent.
- Jang Byung-se – always care for your employees. Work is like second home to them. Feeling cared for apart from their work achievements makes the workplace a better place.
- Kim Moon-sik – you will never escape from your past. Either the victim’s families will come back for you or your own conscience will haunt you endlessly.
- Choi Myung-Hee – a love of a mother is tireless. Losing one’s child is the most painful thing for a mother. She will always hold on to the memories as a means to continue life.
- Yoon Dong-won – you’ll always look up to an awesome manager. Sometimes building a crush because of it 😅 kidding aside, I love how he respects & trusts his former manager despite not working together for very long.
I think I’m addicted to K-drama but that’s fine, 😂! I admit it. They’re made very well and has lots of good lessons for us so I don’t mind. I’m looking forward for the next Korean series that I’ll watch!

I was not much of a fan of K-drama but I got too glued to the show Doctors and at the moment, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim; and I I enjoyed watching both. 🙂
