It’s amazing just how innovative companies are. San Marino in particular was able to create a Tuna Paella in a can! As in wow! In most instances, we can usually only have paella when at a restaurant, and in a group since the serving for paella is usually pretty large. However, it is now possible to eat a considerable amount of paella at a low price. And there’s more, it’s tuna!
Another good thing they’ve done is to make the can an easy-open one. Now, we don’t have to bring a can opener to open it. So this product really is portable. Meaning we can bring it anywhere we go, not worrying much how to open or how to cook. We just open it and we already have paella which includes both tuna and rice. Perfect!
San Marino Tuna Paella is basically a Spanish-inspired dish that consists of Spanish rice, tuna, green peas & carrots. According to advertisements, there are no preservatives added in the product. This is definitely a good product to consider, San Marino Tuna Paella as a healthy product with high content of Omega 3 DHA which is good for the heart.
Their sweet commercial starring Marian Rivera & Dingdong Dantes just made me wanna try it out even more hahaha! I guess romance is the theme as they are combining 2 different ingredients into one (Spanish rice & tuna).
I tried out the product myself yesterday. Opened a can for breakfast and it tasted good! I loved it! It’s basically sticky rice with lots and lots of tuna and some green peas & carrots. Good for 1 serving. I’ve never eaten a tuna paella so this was obviously something new. I would prefer to eat this as a morning or afternoon snack. I may even like this more than their corned tuna product as I don’t need to cook rice or bring bread in order to eat it. It’s an all-in-one product and I’m glad. Life is getting easier as time passes by.

we have it in our office’s vendo machine, however i never tried it out. kinda odd kase for a rice to be packed in can. oh well, maybe it changes the way we think of a canned good. 🙂 it’s tagged Php35 at our vendo, i wonder how much this costs at the supermarkets.
Roch says
you should try this at least once 😉

Sorry Roch, been busy on my writing projects to read your articles; I had some free time I thought I would drop-by. I have been promoting the foil-packaging used in other products like spaghetti sauce to be used for food products like tuna and what more for tuna with rice. It is similar to the foil-packaging of fruit drinks, but food products like tuna, pink salmon, sardines in Spanish oil, and “bangus†(Philippine milkfish) instead of using cans. My concern was my parents in their elderly years have troubles today using a can opener to remove the tuna from the can. With our typhoon seasons it is really a good idea to stock products that have a long-shelf life (non-perishable food products) that would include canned vegetables and canned fruits. My mother needs a tricycle cab to buy fresh fish everyday to get the natural fish oil to prevent blood clots reducing a heart attack. With foil-packaging stockpiled stored someplace, a child can tear off the top or use regular scissors that children can use to make their own tuna sandwiches or eat tuna with rice. A bigger size could be enough for a family of four and you used scissors to open the foil-packaging. There are companies selling tuna in foil-packaging but hardly available. Somebody will complain, if I promote the company. Awhile back one of our canning manufacturing plant in the Philippines was moved to Mainland China because to lower salary expense cost for the American corporation. Mainland China has one of the best economies today and is in the G7 and the Philippines is not even in the G20 meeting in Korea, yet China pay less salaries per working to working in a canning factory to save on salary expense, than the Philippines? One of the wonders of the world, I am wondering how the American company can do that. Make more profits in Mainland China paying the Chinese workers less than they would pay Filipinos in the Philippines. I guess I am not as brilliant in economic matters as I thought.

hi Roch, Century Man is right, you made a good endorsement for this product. For a “century” person like me, this one made me curious and would try it sometime! 😉

Roch!! I like this product very much too. It’s really no good when cold so I always heat it up in the microwave for a minute, out of the can of course, or at the oven toaster for 3. I usually add their corned tuna for more meat, and pour my now-favourite “pinakurat’ vinegar for that extra punch and zing! One of these days I plan to make a tuna burrito out of this and some whole wheat pita bread. 😀 The only negative point for me is that it’s on the oily side.
