Bea, Euri and I met for our usual bonding today. I always look forward to seeing them as they are my dear friends. When we do meet up, we always catch up on whatever is happening on our lives. We tend to do that over brunch. Usually, we meet at Greenbelt and then choose any of the restaurants there. Today though, we decided to meet at SM Aura for a change.
Bea and I arrived first. We walked around the Sky Park at the 5/F of SM Aura to choose for a restaurant we’ll eat in. As we walked along, I saw the big sign in front of Lugang Cafe that says Feast all you can! Who wouldn’t want to eat all you can, right? Luckily for us, the SM Aura promo is extended until today (June 17, 2017). For PHP 588 per person, I thought it was a good deal so we went ahead and entered Lugang Cafe.
I really love the ambiance of Lugang Cafe, it’s so elegant and inviting! You wouldn’t mind staying in for a while because of the beautiful chandeliers, the comfortable chairs and the beautiful lighting! Perfect location for our pig out, haha! 🐷
Lugang Cafe’s popular Feast All You Can goes like this: We get to order as many as we can select dimsum, rice, soup and appetizers. However, we are limited to one house specialty, one glass of iced tea and one scoop of ice cream per person.
At first, I thought that we can get to eat every single dimsum and appetizer in the menu but I was dead wrong. Our stomach can only digest so much! The bill turned out to be around PHP 640+ per person. Not so bad.
Here are what we tried to finish earlier today at brunch:
Soup of the day – Hot & Sour Soup
Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao – among all the xiao long bao at Lugang Cafe’s menu, this is the best. Not the best xiao long bao I have eaten in the Philippines but it’s pretty decent.
Steamed Angled Loofah with Shrimp Xiao Long Bao
Taiwanese Omelette with Preserved Turnip Bits
Vietnamese Egg Rolls
Pork Wontons in Spicy Chili Oil
Pineapple Shrimp with Crullers – this is surprisingly the most delicious appetizer among Lugang Cafe’s Feast All You Can menu. It’s like puffed shrimp with pineapple in white sauce.
Garlic Pork Roll – this is another yummy appetizer. It’s literally pork roll. The dish is served cold.
Rice of the Day – Sausage Fried Rice. When this was served to us, I was like, “where’s the sausage?”. So upon eating it, we found like 4-5 pieces of small sausage bits? hahaha!
Stewed Minced Pork Over Rice
Iced Tea – I must say that Lugang Cafe’s Iced Tea is the best! It was so yummy that both Bea and I were trying to sip only a little so that we get to enjoy the drink a bit longer! I wonder how they made this! I definitely wanna know how! 🍹
House Specialty: Salt & Pepper Squid – I don’t know if we were too full or what, but I didn’t enjoy this dish at all. Which is odd really as I love anything salt & pepper!
House Specialty: Steamed Fish Fillet with Crispy Taoso – the fish used in this dish is cream dory. The taoso for me is the highlight of this dish. Really yum! You can’t go wrong with this order!
House Specialty: Salted Egg Prawns (7 pieces) – I wish Lugang Cafe didn’t put the basil leaves in there as it overpowered the taste of the salted egg (which is the main reason why we ordered the dish) 😞
Last but definitely not the least, Ice Cream (cookies and cream flavor). I loved this even though I would have wanted the grape flavor (which was out of stock when we ordered). It had real cookie bits inside the creamy ice cream. If I remember correctly, the ice cream is a new addition to the Feast-All-You-Can this year. I don’t recall having ice cream last year when I availed of the same promo at Lugang Cafe.
Overall, I think the meal was worth it. I’m not sure though if I will do it again next year as my appetite is getting smaller as I get older. We’ll see.
If you still want to catch Lugang Cafe’s Feast All You Can, their SM North and The New Glorietta branches are offering it from June 19 to July 31, 2017.
