Watching James Cameron’s Avatar in IMAX was one of the best decisions my colleagues made. I was just so glad I was able to join them as Avatar is the best full 3D movie I have watched so far!
It’s like all of James Cameron’s knowledge when it comes to science fiction & technology was put into the movie, Avatar. I can’t think of anything else they can improve on to make the movie better. It’s perfect as it is for me. Besides, my golly it’s in full 3D!
I actually feel that watching a whole movie in 3D can make you feel dizzy as I felt it a bit when I watched Battle of Terra before. With Avatar, I totally dismiss the dizzy part as the movie is superb! I mean it’s just full of awesomeness! You all SHOULD really catch this on 3D theaters, if not, then you are truly missing BIG time!
Avatar started when humans were colonizing Pandora, a moon. The humans are there because they want to mine a little gray rock worth 20 million a kilo. The problem is the blue skinned Na’vi who are indigenous beings living on Pandora, have their village on the largest deposit. What we know at the start of the movie, the Na’vi had been living harmoniously with their environment but humans couldn’t breathe the Pandoran air. Human scientists were able to genetically engineer human-Na’vi hybridizing. They call them avatars so humans can use these avatars to be able to visit the world.
Avatar is the classic story of the strong preying on the weak and it is up to a few good men and women to fight for something they believe in.
I will not share the whole story coz I don’t wanna spoil it. I suggest you watch this in 3D theaters, even though it is a bit more expensive. Don’t watch it in 2D, believe me, watching it in 3D is well worth every cent.
I can really say that Avatar is an amazing movie. The characters were very believable. The music was perfect. the action scenes and the casting were flawless. I highly recommend that you go watch this movie! It is ssssoooo good!
My rating for Avatar: 5 out of 5 stars.

Avatar movie effects are the best in 3d film, but I did not buy the story line, makes no sense to me, 20 million /kilo rock what's the use of that back on earth? then you need to travel it back for five years?, I tot the navi will die if the big tree is to be cut tsk tsk nope, and why does neyteri act like a wild animal all the time? bow and arrows? they should have just set it in an amazon jungle and not in the far away pandora. I'm sorry to say this but battle for terra sucks but at least it ha a plausible storyline.

yeah I understand where you're coming from 🙂 As for me though, it was entertaining enough and I know that it's fiction so I didn't analyze it that much.. Besides, like you said, Avatar's movie effects are the best in 3d film

Saw avatar at SM Imax 3D last saturday. Our seats the best since it is in the upper center portion of the theater. I also notice a lot of caucuasian and asians watching the film. I suddenly had that deja vu feeling of being in an LA theater hehehe complete with the popcorn and their american accent.
Anywho the movie is nice, effects are the best. Sadly the story is kind of an old rehash. Its like watching a futuristic version of pocahontas, you know the disney movie where people from the west invades the new world and claims it as its own. Just remember the song “Color of the Wind” and you know the story. The avatar twist is nothing new too, (recent movie Surrogates ring any bell?) And the length of the movie is quite a bother, its almost or over 3 hrs long. A lot of the scenes should have been cut. But overall its still worth it just becoz of the effect even though the story telling part suffered. Merry xmas roch.

Hi,
We're not here for the plot, we're here for the cool CGI/motion capture/movie magic, and for 2 1/2 hours, this movie never disappoints.
