If I’m going to choose only one genre in TV shows, my choice will always be cooking-related. Netflix has some gems like Chef’s Table, Ugly Delicious, Mind of a Chef and Chef & My Fridge but there is a new one named The Final Table and I love it! ❤️
The Final Table is a cooking competition that features 12 pairs of chefs from around the world. In each episode, the chefs are expected to prepare a national dish from a country. The featured countries were Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, Brazil, India, United States, Italy, Japan and France. The food will be judged by a food critic, celebrity ambassadors & a celebrated chef from that country. One team will be eliminated after each episode. In the final episode, the remaining chef duos will compete as individual chefs. The finalists will have to create a dish to impress all nine legendary icons from previous episodes. The winner chef will get the prize of having a seat at the final table together with them.
I’m super star-struck with chefs and the ones that I rooted for while watching the show were Shin and Ronald. It’s sad that they got eliminated early on. 😔 The other chefs that I liked were Shane Osborn and Mark Best, Rafael Gil and Esdras Ochoa & Charles Michel and Rodrigo Pacheco.
I enjoyed the Final Table because it’s a very straightforward cooking competition. There is no drama at all! They also didn’t have any wildcards. So if you made a small mistake and got eliminated in an episode, that’s it. The decision to either eliminate a team or choose a winner lie solely on the judges. In the end, there were some discussions on who should win… the one who cooked his signature dish or the one who took the risk and cooked based on his experience on the show? I wonder if there’ll be a season two but I hope there will be as I super love The Final Table!
My rating for The Final Table: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ (4 out of 5 stars).
