Our Christmas Tree

Our Christmas Tree

I do not really celebrate the holidays because I used to spend it alone.  So for the past 10 years or so, all those Decembers were normal for me.  But this year is different!!! 😀

My mom is finally spending the holidays with me and it got me so excited and so happy!  With that in mind, I invested in holiday decor.  My chosen decor?  A Christmas tree, of course!

First thing I thought of when deciding what tree to get is the design of my place.  My place’s theme is minimalistic with colors limited to white, black and red.

So, I got a Red Christmas Tree!

I like how the red tree matches the place.  However, the red christmas tree did look thin and plain without any accessories.  Then I thought, what should I buy to make it look Christmas-y?

Since the tree’s bottom looked awful, I bought a tree skirt.  There were two designs in the shop where I bought it from – santa skirt and snowman skirt.  Our Christmas tree is color red so I ended up choosing the snowman skirt to give the tree a bit more color.

Next up, Christmas Lights!  There were a lot of lights to choose from but I ended up choosing the steady warm lights.  The reason for that is the lights in our house is already cool white.  I didn’t wanna overkill it.

Garlands were the next ones that mom and I put.  I saw them in Living Well Store and I immediately knew that the gold and silver garlands are the right ones for our Christmas Tree.  They look elegant and shiny!

For the topper, the usual choices are a star and an angel.  However, I found santa’s hat too cute to pass up.  Plus, it complements the snowmen in our tree skirt.

Last, but definitely not the least, the ornaments.  According to the guides that I’ve read, ornaments should be put last.  I followed the advice since they are the experts.  Plus, upon following the instructions, it really made sense.  The decorating was much easier.

I’ve stuck with the red-gold-silver-white theme for our Christmas Tree.

I think it looked awesome!  Here’s a closer look 🙂
