The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 Movie Review

I got to watch this movie due to a movie block screening in the office.  

I’ve read the book already and I was excited how the Hunger Games movie franchise would make it to be.  To be honest, I was underwhelmed with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 movie.  I guess I was expecting a lot of action considering this is already nearing the ending.  The first two movies were excellent and full of action-packed scenes.  

Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 1 concentrated on Katniss Everdeen’s process in becoming a symbol (mockingjay) against the Capitol.  This part of the story was full of emotion.  When I think about it, the movie was really effective.  Kudos to the acting chops of Jennifer Lawrence.  Jennifer did the role justice by effectively showing the different emotions needed in each of the scenes.  Julianne Moore joining the cast made me enjoy the movie more.

I’m not sure though if it made sense to split Mockingjay into 2 parts.  At one point, I felt that the movie was dragging already.  Anyhow, I will continue to look forward for Mockingjay Part 2 movie which will be shown on 2015.
