Gone Girl is a movie that ladies will love.
Why? Because the movie showed that girls can be tough, conniving and dangerous too!
It was so refreshing to see this kind of movie. Gone Girl definitely made a lot of noise because of its dark story and unusual villain. I’ve always thought that Rosamund Pike is too beautiful. I first noticed her on a James Bond movie and I’ve always wished to see her again in a movie. So glad to see her in Gone Girl and she made the role justice. I believe it’s really Rosamund who carried the movie because of her effective acting.
While I enjoyed the movie and felt the strong girl power, there are some serious issues that came out in Gone Girl. Things like:
- Perception is critical. I feel this is the sad truth. Because people can sometimes be so shallow and easy to judge, bad people can take that as an advantage. They will manipulate the situation and make it look like how they want it to, even to the point of hurting someone’s reputation.
- Everyone is fighting gender equality. Let’s face it. Life is unfair. There will always be instances where one gender has the upper-hand.
- Justice sometimes doesn’t prevail in this world. However, my firm belief is that justice will still be served, maybe not in this lifetime, but forever, in God’s place and time.
Overall, excellent movie! I’ll probably get a copy of this movie for my collection.
My Rating for Gone Girl: 5 out of 5 stars.
