Last friday, I was sick. However, I thought that I was strong enough to go out and watch Guardians of the Galaxy so I went ahead. I just couldn’t miss this widely raved movie. Having the opportunity to watch it for free c/o PLDT Telpad made it much sweeter. Thanks to PLDT btw 🙂
Being too weak with high fever, I ended up sleeping through 45% of the movie. Yeah, I’m such a loser 🙁
What can I say? My body can only take so much… huhuhu.
Anyhow, I was able to catch the latter half of Guardians of the Galaxy. I couldn’t stop laughing and I was totally glued. To be totally honest, I haven’t heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy until this movie came out. So to compensate for my lack of knowledge, I’m putting here some information about what I researched. This will definitely help me out when the next Guardians of the Galaxy comes out on July 28, 2017.
Who are the Guardians of the Galaxy?
The Guardians of the Galaxy is a team of anti-heroes led by Star-Lord. The other members of the group are: Gamora, the adopted daughter of Thanos who we first saw at the end credits for the Avengers! Then there is Drax the Destroyer. Rocket and Groot!
The images & description for each character came from the marvel website.
Star-Lord/Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt) is an interstellar adventurer who was abducted from Earth at a young age. After recovering an ancient artefact, Quill must rally an unlikely team of cosmic misfits to prevent a powerful villain from destroying the galaxy.
Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana) is an orphan from an alien world who was raised by the mysterious Thanos to become the perfect weapon. As Thanos’ personal assassin, Gamora has earned a reputation as a formidable warrior. Gamora now seeks redemption from her past crimes
A physical brute, Drax the Destroyer (played by Dave Bautista) has a personal vendetta against Ronan, who killed his family. Now fuelled by pure rage, Drax will stop at nothing to take his revenge on the most dangerous being in the galaxy.
Rocket (played by Bradley Cooper) is a bounty hunter and mercenary whose mastery of weapons and battle tactics make him a formidable warrior, despite being a genetically altered, cybernetically enhanced, talking raccoon. The result of traumatic biological experimentation. Rocket is a genuine gun-toting badass and mechanical genus who has a huge chip on his shoulder.
Groot (played by Vin Diesel) descends from a race of walking flora and resembles a sentient tree. Despite his strange appearance and limited communication skills, Groot proves to be a valuable ally and a loyal friend – not only to his fellow bounty hunter Rocket but to the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy as well.
The Soundtrack
Right after watching Guardians of the Galaxy, I’m 100% sure that fans will definitely look for the soundtrack. Who wouldn’t? This movie made the 70s music sound so cool and fresh! Good music no matter how old they are will stay for good!

The Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Trailer
I remember seeing the trailer once. I found it interesting but didn’t think it would be such a blockbuster! This is probably the first movie trailer that deviated from the actual story of the movie. It was actually nice that the trailer kinda introduced the characters. The trailer gave us a glimpse of the guardians knowing that they are less popular than other Marvel characters.
Last thoughts
I still feel awful that I missed almost half of the movie. So I’ll probably watch Guardians of the Galaxy again. This time, I’ll watch it via iMAX or 4DX. The movie is THAT good. So I suggest that you watch it too! I actually saw a couple of friends posting that Guardians of the Galaxy is their pick for 2014 movie of the year so far.

Hi Rochelle!! 🙂
I have to agree on the soundtrack – we appreciate it because it’s our generation’s ‘Oldie’ song – songs that we used to head on Friday’s Magic Madness! Hahahaha..
I really liked to movie. I really like the humor and the direction! 🙂
See you soon Roch!
