Beijing Beef

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 kilo beef tenderloin thinly sliced
  • 1 piece green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 piece red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 piece onion sliced
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 4 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp cold water
  • 1 tbsp corn starch

Instructions

  1. In a wok, heat oil over medium heat.

  2. add beef tenderloin and saute for 3 minutes.

  3. add bell peppers and onions and saute for another 2 minutes.

  4. In a bowl, combine together water, sugar, ketchup, vinegar, chili flakes and garlic. Add mixture to wok.

  5. mix ingredients and bring to a boil.

  6. in another small bowl, combine water and cornstarch. pour into the wok.

  7. stir ingredients well and cook until sauce is thick.

  8. remove from heat and serve. enjoy!
