Oyster Beef with Chinese Broccoli

Ingredients

To Marinate

  • 2 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp shaoxing wine
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp olive oil

To Cook

  • 1 kilo sirloin beef sliced thinly
  • 1 bunch chinese broccoli tough stem removed & cleaned
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 3 slices ginger
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef with all the marinating ingredient. Set aside for 30 minutes. (note: I have a 9-minute marinator machine so I did this for only 10 minutes)

  2. Cut the hard stems of chinese broccoli. 

  3. In a wok, bring water to a boil. Add ginger slices and 1 teaspoon sesame oil.

  4. Blanch the Chinese Broccoli for 1 minute. 

  5. Transfer the blanched Chinese Broccoli to a serving plate.

  6. Remove the water/sesame oil/ginger mixture from the wok.

  7. Heat the olive oil in wok.

  8. Add marinated beef, oyster sauce and sesame oil and mix the ingredients.

  9. Cook quickly for 1 minute then place the cooked beef on top of the blanched chinese broccoli.

  10. serve and enjoy!
